Mitsubishi Electric Acquires DVD-patents from IBM

According to an announcement by Mitsubishi Electric on August 3, the company has acquired approximately 250 patents related to DVD-technologies from IBM. It did not disclose details about the price of the transaction or about the specifics of the patent-technologies. The company stated that it will use the patents to develop equipment and products for next-generation DVD formats.
